The Lazarus Shinyemba Ipangelwa (LSI) Foundation is a non-profitable, charitable organization, launched in June 2007, which recognizes and encourages excellence in business leadership. The Foundation provides training and mentoring  programmes to students, graduates and emerging entrepreneurs. The Foundation was created in memory of Lazarus Shinyemba Ipangelwa. Ipangelwa was an exceptional business leader who made great contributions to Namibia, especially within the business community. Having held high positions at the Bank of Namibia, Ipangelwa became the CEO of First National Bank  (FNB). He helped create a foundation upon which others can follow. In order to honour his visionary
leadership and relentless commitment to the growth and prosperity of Namibia and its people; friends, colleagues and family of Lazarus Ipangelwa deemed it necessary to create a Foundation in his name. The LSI Foundation will carry on his vision in business leadership and education.

The Foundation has programmes in several areas that support its mission:
–       LSI Award for Business Leadership and Excellence: recognizes an exemplary business person for his/her ability to engage and inspire others in their workplace.
–       Training and Mentoring for SMEs and Farmers: provides key support for entrepreneurs through LSI and its partnering organizations.
–       Grade 12 Revision Workshops: assist students during the April and
August school breaks in attaining better grades in their final examination.
–       Business Leadership Youth Programme (BLYP): is a leadership training programme for high school students centered on business principles.
